This is an introduction to basic juggling skill building. A few basic things to keep in mind:
- Be patient with yourself. If you ever feel frustrated move backwards to an easier skill in which you're more proficient. It's good to push yourself to a new skill, and it's even better to become more consistent at a skill which you are more familiar with.
- Begin seated on the floor or standing in front of a bed. When learning a new skill, you may find yourself dropping the ball(s) a lot. Make it easier on yourself by starting kneeling or seated on the floor, or standing in front of a bed, so you won't have to do a million squats as you stoop to the floor to pick up the balls. Unless you want to do squats. That's ok too.
- Consistency is key. You're working to build muscle memory, so repetitions focused on consistency of the height of your throws is going to help build proper muscle memory.
Two-ball Juggling
Building on the skills that we practiced with one-ball juggling, we begin to work with multiple juggling objects. A proper foundation in two-ball juggling makes the transition to three-ball juggling easier.
